What is Emergency First Response?

An Emergency First Response course prepares you to properly handle potentially life and non life-threatening situations by giving you the tools and confidence you need to perform CPR and First Aid in an emergency accident or illness situation. Oxygen Administration is the principle First Response tool for dive-related injuries. This additional course option teaches the techniques required to provide emergency oxygen first aid. We are qualified to train in DAN, EFR and EFR for children.

What do I need to start?

  • No dive certification required
  • No minimum age limit
  • Non divers welcome
What will I do?
This comprehensive EFR program is composed of two core modules. Each Module can be taught in tandem or as stand-alone courses: Emergency First Response - Primary Care & Emergency First Response - Secondary Care. These courses proved extensive instruction in CPR and First Aid skills, as well as providing hands on experience in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) and Emergency Oxygen Administration.

How long will it take?
The full course, comprising of both modules usually takes 1 whole day, approx 8hrs. Emergency First Response is also very flexible - you can learn background knowledge in your own time then conduct the practical, hands-on training sessions with your qualified Emergency First Response Instructor. On completion of the course you will be issued with an Emergency First Response Certification Card. A Refresher course is recommended every 24 months.
